Installation

GSET is version 2.2.1. It has zero external dependencies — one static Go binary.

Requirements

To build from source: Go 1.21+
To run GSET output, install whichever target runtime you want to use: python3, node, go, java (+ javac), or ruby

One-liner install script

The project ships an installer script that fetches a prebuilt binary:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Crazygiscool/GSETLang/main/install.sh | bash

The installer copies the binary to ~/.local/bin/gset, adds ~/.local/bin to your PATH (appends to ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc), and prints the installed version. Restart your shell (or source ~/.bashrc/~/.zshrc) if gset isn't found, then verify:

gset version

Pre-built binaries

Download the latest release from the GitHub Releases page. Releases are cross-compiled for Linux, macOS, and Windows (amd64/arm64) into dist/ by scripts/build.sh.

Build from source

go build -o gset .

The build emits a gset binary in the repo root. To also copy it into test/, use make build (this produces gset-2.2.1).

What you'll need at runtime

You can override any of these commands in gset.conf. If a toolchain is missing, gset run fails with a clear execution error — install the runtime and try again.
